The truth is an idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that only exists as an idea. Don’t be discouraged, having a great idea is a cool start but there has to be some type of intention and effort put forth into making it a reality. When we think about ideas, many choose to focus on the large scale, which is awesome. I want to start right where some of us are first. Let’s talk about the various ideas we hold to make it through each day. Many that deal with depression have a hard time getting out of bed each morning. An idea to take a shower and get dressed seems like a daunting task. What about the idea to be at work on time? Or making dinner for the kids? Just a few examples of how we tend to overlook what we feel are the ordinary accomplishments. At times, we can get caught up in our own issues and satisfy the desire to remain stagnant. To dwell, engage, and even uphold our thoughts on how things will never get better. Feeling like life is unfair and the bitterness, pain and mistakes can’t be overcome. Do not let events, situations or circumstances choose your true purpose in life. “Your worst enemy cannot harm you as much as your own thoughts, unguarded.”Yes, things do happen and there may be feelings of “why me?’ but once you are aware of it, make the decision to accept and then change what you can. No rule that says you have to do it all alone either. Resources are available, it will just require some searching and perhaps even asking around to get started. As a Buddhist, I have learned a triple truth for all: “a generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity”. So when it comes to the big dreams, deciding to set goals is a great way to make it happen. Write down your passion. What is it that drives you? What is it that you could and would do for free? When you do what you love, this is when you will begin to see beneficial results. Let’s say you’re an outstanding dancer. Family, friends know it yet you haven’t taken the plunge to create some videos of yourself to your favorite music. Perhaps there is a course you can take to learn more about the art of dancing. Start off with a goal of creating a YouTube channel, for example. Post videos of your creativity then you can start choosing some companies that may be interested in fresh new faces as part of their dancing troupe. The key is in the process, in making the choice to be pro-active about what you want. Regardless of any outcome that you perceive is unfavorable, the lessons you learn and the experience you receive will all build to a brighter future. It is by design that you are meant for greatness. Remember the saying from the great author of “The Alchemist” Paulo Coelho? “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” Taking some type of action, even as simple as a phone call to inquire about your chosen field, is significant. Also, keep in mind, it is never too late to set a new goal or work on a different dream. It is all about creating your space to be free. Free to dance, sing, write, cook and so on. Adding your unique touch to what you love and sharing it with the world. To empower and inspire. The whole secret of existence is=No Fear. When you can feel tranquil and grasp onto teachings and appreciate your journey, you are definitely on your way!
