Think Before You Speak!

Before you speak

T H I N K

Is it True?

Is it Helpful?

Is it Inspiring?

Is it Necessary?

Is it Kind?

There is a time and a way to say everything.  Words can build up or tear down, powerful and influential. The things that we choose to say carry with it a strong intent or as CEO Matt Mayberry calls it ” emotional potency”. Your words have a dynamic impression to manifest change, whether good or bad.  The way that you speak, in your attitude and tone of voice, reflects the kind of person you are and has a major effect on everything around you. I believe that if we asked a question such as ” How many times is my heart involved in what I am doing? then it becomes easier to not engage in emotional outbursts, arguments, gossip or rudeness.  You have probably observed this behavior in others or have been the one to react before thinking. We have all had the experience(myself included) where emotions get the best of us. Effective communication is what oxygen is to the body. It’s essential to maintain relationships whether personal or professional and to establish healthy environments. Choosing to confront issues with love and compassion can make all the difference in outcome.

We cannot control the way people interpret our ideas or thoughts, but we can control the words and tones we choose to convey them. Peace is built on understanding, and wars are built on misunderstandings. Never underestimate the power of a single word, and never recklessly throw around words. One wrong word, or misinterpreted word, can change the meaning of an entire sentence and start a war. And one right word, or one kind word, can grant you the heavens and open doors.”- Suzy Kassem, Rise Up And Salute The Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem
